Site Visit
To make the most of your visit
If you happen to have the chance to take a couple of days or more to come over to the destination and check out venues and vendors, here are the things you would want to do:
- Have airport transfers or a car rental arranged
- Confirm appointments with vendors prior to your visit, keep in mind that most vendors will be busy on the weekends.
- Have full contact information and set appointments with the Sales Manager at the chosen venues (he/she will be the right person to inform you directly about options, prices and possibilities at each place)
- If you are pretty sure about your venue, you could get a discounted rate or a complementary room night at the hotel you have selected
- If you have already booked your venue, it is then highly recommended that a menu tasting be set up. This will be the perfect time to meet with the chef to talk about all details concerning your wedding menu such as your likes, dislikes, allergies, etc. It is important that you get the full kit menu prior to your visit and (it is advisable to) select 3 options of each course.
- Meet with a couple of ministers. Talk about the flow of the ceremony, and the traditions you want to incorporate. Be very specific about the connotation and meaning that you want to give to your ceremony.
- Meet with 2 or 3 photographers, check their work on line, talk to them on the phone and when you meet them, be very specific about your expectations in terms of style and time-line
- Check florist designers. If you have pictures and ideas, bring them with you. If you have the color of the bridesmaids’ dresses, bring a piece of the fabric. A photo of your dress will also help; bring it if you got it!
- Meet with the pastry chef of the selected venue or meet with an external pastry chef if you are allowed to bring your own cake.
- Visit a couple of restaurants as options for the rehearsal dinner or welcome dinner
- Visit a couple of shops to find favors and welcome gift ideas. Ask your wedding planner if you could store items at their offices.
If you have already booked your wedding planner, she will be able to take care of all these appointments and suggest vendors that would work best for your wedding concept. Signature Weddings offers organized site inspections. Please contact us for more information about vendors, venues and site visits in the Los Cabos or Cancun areas.
