The location: Sunset da Mona Lisa Restaurant, Los Cabos

# of guests: 50

Why a destination wedding? Aline & Craig wanted their wedding to be an extremely special occasion, with their closest friends and family celebrating in a relaxed, low pressure environment. “I simply wanted the feel of being on vacation with all of the people I love the most, and including my wedding ceremony as part of that.”

Why Cabo? Cabo is a very special place for Aline & Craig because it was herewhere they decided that they wanted to move forward on their relationship

In addition to that, they found Los Cabos quite beautiful and easily accessible from the States.“We are at our happiest when we are on our yearly vacation in Cabo, and we wanted to recreate that feeling for our wedding, and our friends.”

Accommodations: Aline and Craig wanted to offer at least three accommodation options to their guests. Most everyone chose Villa La Estancia.

The concept: The venue itself had a very warm feeling that we accentuated with dozens of candles. Aline chose white flowers with a touch of blue. All the arrangements were made by Pina Hernandez, florist designer.

The vendors: The couple wanted to embrace Mexican ambiances. They had a Mexican trio welcome guests on the terrace, then a Mariachi band after the ceremony, and finally, during the reception, guitar player Adan Mijares provided the musical entertainment.

The ceremony: Aline and Craig exchanged vows on Mona Lisa’s ocean-front terrace, which overlooks Cabo San Lucas’s famous Arch. Reverend Marco Aréchiga performed the ceremony

The rehearsal dinner: A Mexican dinner was held at Mi Casa Restaurant, where tables were draped with traditional Mexican linens.

The challenge: “The most difficult part happened to also be the most pleasant part –the planning.” For Aline it was initially difficult because she wanted to have so much involvement in the little details of the wedding. Not being just a drive away can be a big challenge.

The reward: “It ended up being the best thing ever! It was great to know where I was having a wedding, and then relinquish some control to someone who new the area, the vendors, and could take care of all the little things. It was awesome to show up and have everything perfect and beautiful.”
