The location: Cabo Surf Hotel, Los Cabos

# of guests: 70

Why a destination wedding? We wanted our wedding to be a celebration of our marriage as well as a vacation for our friends and family. Our goal was to create a long weekend of fun, relaxation, and togetherness for those closest to us, capped off by our ceremony and an excellent party!

Why Cabo? Los Cabos is a perfect destination for a wedding because it has something for everyone- beach, golf, good food, relaxation, as well as being an absolutely gorgeous setting for a great vacation and a great party. Our guests were excited the moment they arrived at the airport. Plus, the people in Los Cabos are unquestionably some of the friendliest, kindest, and most generous people around. They make vacationing in Cabo easy.

The planning: Prior to the wedding, Sarah & Ian came to Cabo only once. During that trip, they met with the priest, photographers and DJ and confirmed the location.

Accommodations: The couple chose the “buy out” option at the Cabo Surf Boutique Hotel, which enabled guests to obtain special rates and, above all, to enjoy the beauty of the location in utmost privacy. Bride, groom and friends hung out by the pool most of the time, relaxing and soaking up the stunning view.

The concept:
Sarah wanted a very fun and casual, yet elegant and attractive ambiance. Her colors were bright orange and vivid pink. Sarai suggested using candle light and hanging lamps in the reception area to create a very cozy, stylish atmosphere.

The vendors: Sarah & Ian used mainly local vendors. The ceremony was performed by local priest Father Humberto. She walked down the aisle to the Ensamble Acústico classical trio, while the rest of the reception was in DJ Adan Mijares’s hands. Sarah and Ian spent weeks selecting the song list, as the party time was really important to them.

The ceremony: Sarah and Ian exchanged their vows in the charming Mission San Jose del Cabo. All the paperwork was completed in their own church back home prior to the wedding. Father Humberto celebrated the ceremony entirely in English.

The rehearsal dinner: An Italian night was held at La Dolce Restaurant, which is within walking distance from the church. Colorful gerbera-daisies and décor were the perfect combination for a very warm and special soirée.

The challenge: The most difficult part was the distance, meaning we had to accomplish nearly everything over the phone and email, only having the time to come to Cabo for one trip dedicated to planning prior to the wedding.

The reward: The most pleasant side- by far- was working with Sarai. I knew, as soon as I met her in person, that we were in the best, most capable hands to have the wedding we dreamed of. It sounds terribly cliched, but our wedding was everything we had hoped it would be. It was all thanks to Sarai! In addition to her wonderful, kind, easygoing personality, she has fabulous taste in all things so we completely trusted her judgment.
